ELA - smart start worksheet **I hope to see you all at Open House this afternoon! (Students were given opportunities to complete homework in class.) There will not be any written homework this week, but you do need to be practicing the sight words. They can be found in the binder.
What exactly do I expect from my students when it comes to homework and responsibility?
I expect students to write all assignments in their planners daily. It is important that they develop a sense of responsibility and ownership for their decisions and actions. I expect every student to complete all assignments and turn them in on time. Of course things happen, schedules change, emergencies/surprises come up, and there may be a day when someone wasn't able to write down their assignments. Don't worry - this page on the site should have homework assignments posted before 4 in the afternoon. If you need help, you can submit your question in the comment section of the daily assignments. If your question is posted by 8:30 p.m., I should have an explanation/answer for you by 10 p.m. If your question isn't on here by 8:30, I can't promise I'll see it or be able to answer it that evening. I have to implement a time frame for asking questions - I do have a little one, a life (sort of) and I am a fan of sleep :) *Please remember, I'm not going to just give you an answer. Remember what we tell you in the classroom when you ask those questions: "Read your lesson. Look in the glossary. The answer is in the book." I'm sure you're thinking, "Well, if you aren't giving me answers, then, what is the point of your so-called 'homework help?'" Good question - I can explain the process of working out math problems or the rules you need to remember for grammar. I'm not going to do your homework for you, but I'll be more than happy to help :) |
